Andrew Macknight: Not so much on my music itself but definitely with things like… The album simply called Metal by Manilla Road released on Roadster Records, Inc. in 1982 Nati alla fine degli anni '70 da un'idea di Mark Shelton e Scott Park, i Manilla Road ed iniziarono a suonare qualche data nei bar della zona di Wichita (loro città natale) insieme a vari batteristi. Manilla Road was created by Shelton in 1977 with high school friends Benny Munkirs, Rick Fisher and brothers Robert and Scott Park. A decade after what was originally planned as a Mark Shelton solo project, namely “Circus Maximus,” the album "Atlantis Rising" marked the comeback phase of Manilla Road proper. The band had signed to Iron Glory Records and issued two records in quick succession, "Atlantis Rising" in 2001 was followed by… Setlist : 1,Haunted Palace 2,Weavers Of The Web 3,Queen Of The Black Coast 4,Divine Victim 5,Brethren Of The Hammer 6,Masque Of The Red Death 7,Death By The The LP was recorded in 1985 at Miller studios (where Manilla Road recorded the bulk of their classic material) and produced by Mark Shelton. A few promo cassettes exist, other than that, this LP has never been heard! Stygian Shore was the only band besides Manilla Road to be on their imprint Roadster Records.

Recording information: Recorded by Manilla Road at Midgard Sound Labs in Wichita, KS. Manilla Road started in the 70s as some sort of garage rock band, from what I understand, but even from the earliest material we have - the debut and After Midnight Live - I'm not sure which songs were actually written first - it's clear that they weren't interest in the mainstream or commercial success - they were interested in writing compelling, unique, epic music that stood out from other Manilla Road have been a force to be reckoned with for over three decades; one of the great titans of heavy metal, they're older than most of the currently active bands, having formed way back in 1977. In terms of consistency, they're second to none, with the only remote competition that comes to mind being Japan's Ningen-Isu. Recorded 1979 and sent out to various local radio stations in the Wichita area. The copies of the demo tape have been lost over the years.
